Rikst Westra is a dedicated producer and researcher fostering inclusive and accessible narratives. Currently, she serves as the project leader for Collective Innovation for the Biobased Transition at CARADT. In this role, Rikst spearheads efforts to explore and implement biobased innovations through collaborative practices. With a background in graphic design and a Master’s degree in Arts Policy and Management, she brings a unique blend of creative and strategic thinking to her projects.
Throughout her career, Rikst has continuously sought ways to bridge the gap between complex societal issues and creative solutions. Her work emphasizes the importance of collaboration between artists, designers, and the broader community, ensuring that the stories and innovations they create are not only aesthetically compelling but also accessible and inclusive.
Rikst’s diverse experience spans various roles, from Creative Producer at We Are Playgrounds to her work coordinating large-scale events at Avans Hogeschool. Across all her positions, one theme remains constant: her drive to push boundaries and foster environments where creativity thrives through inclusion, dialogue, and innovation. Whether managing a team of creatives or exploring new methods in design, she remains committed to making a meaningful impact on both the arts and the community.
