Tara Karpinski speaks at the online event Rights to the blockchain city #3

On Wednesday the 24th of February, researcher Tara Karpinski takes part in the event, Right to the blockchain city #3, organised by Pakhuis De Zwijger, in cooperation with Het Nieuwe Instituut. The event is hosted online, at 18.30, via a livecastarrow.

Together with Guido Boella, Joost Beunderman, Klaas Kuitenbrouwer and Sarah Friend, Tara Karpinski will join the discussion about the urban commonsThis is a movement that is often seen as a response to the ongoing privatization of public space. How can the blockchain be a useful tool to make systems of commoning stronger? Tara will present and discuss the design probes she made to help resource communities shape discussions about the abstract consequences of blockchain systems.

Design Thinking for the Circular Economy (2019 – 2020)

Tara Karpinski is a designer, researcher and educator working in the realm of social practice. She holds a BA in photography and art history from the Savannah College of Art & Design (USA), and an MA from the Sandberg Instituut (NL). Her Master studies were funded by a Netherland-America Foundation grant.
